Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (NP/PA) – Locum Tenens in Broomfield, Colorado

Seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for an addiction medicine locum tenens job in Broomfield, Colorado. Join a collaborative residential treatment team supporting adults through medically supervised detoxification, medication-assisted treatment, and ongoing behavioral health care.

This opportunity offers meaningful clinical autonomy in a supportive residential treatment and outpatient opioid treatment setting. Provide intake evaluations, medication-assisted detoxification, patient rounding, discharge planning, and clinical oversight. Addiction Medicine Job Details

  • Location: Broomfield, Colorado
  • Healthcare Setting: Residential treatment and outpatient opioid treatment program
  • Patient Population: Adults age 18 and older
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,260–$3,870
  • Schedule: 4 shifts per week
  • Shift Duration: 10-hour daytime shifts
  • Typical Coverage: Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday, including weekends
  • Shift Timing: Late morning through evening, generally approximately 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 or 9:00 p.m.
  • Assignment Length: 26 weeks, with potential continuation based on program needs
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 8–10 new intakes per day, in addition to discharges and rounding
  • Start Date: As soon as credentialing is completed

Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Requirements

  • Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Colorado
  • At least 2 years of advanced practice experience; residential treatment experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with addiction medicine, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, or behavioral health care preferred
  • Active DEA registration
  • Ability to practice independently and serve as the on-site charge provider when assigned
  • Strong assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and clinical documentation skills
  • Comfort caring for adults in a residential treatment environment

Addiction Medicine Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and new patient intake assessments
  • Provide medical care for patients undergoing medication-assisted detoxification and medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
  • Manage opioid treatment services, including outpatient methadone clinic support
  • Round on established patients and evaluate clinical progress
  • Complete discharge assessments, medication reconciliation, and follow-up planning
  • Provide clinical oversight for residential treatment services and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
  • Practice independently while following established clinical protocols and safety standards
  • Document assessments, treatment plans, orders, and patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record
  • No routine procedures are required for this role
