Physician Assistant Job Details
- Position: Infectious Disease Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Practice Setting: Outpatient infectious disease specialty clinic
- Location: Greensboro, North Carolina, a vibrant community known for welcoming neighborhoods, parks, cultural attractions, and convenient access to the broader Piedmont Triad region
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,730–$4,000
- Start Date: December 14, 2026
- Contract Duration: 52 weeks, through December 13, 2027
- Schedule: Approximately 5 days per week; Monday through Thursday 8-hour shifts plus a Friday half-day
- Shift: Daytime, 8-hour shifts
- Patient Volume: Approximately 12–15 adult patients per day
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Clinical Support: Registered nurses, clinical medical assistants, and physicians
Infectious Disease Physician Assistant Requirements
- At least 3 years of Physician Assistant experience; infectious disease experience is strongly preferred
- Recent experience caring for and managing adult patients with HIV is required
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active Physician Assistant license in North Carolina
- Current board certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), obtained within the applicable certification timeframe
- Current DEA registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, documentation, and patient education skills
Infectious Disease Physician Assistant Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive outpatient assessments and physical examinations for adult infectious disease patients
- Review medical histories and interpret diagnostic tests and results to develop effective treatment plans
- Provide ongoing care for patients with HIV and other complex infectious diseases
- Conduct preventive health screenings based on each patient’s age, history, and individual needs
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, medications, follow-up care, and preventive health
- Perform office-based infectious disease and specialty care procedures within established clinical guidelines and scope of practice
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Epic electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, clinical medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team
- Identify opportunities to improve outpatient infectious disease care through clinical problem-solving and evaluation of operational processes
