Locum Tenens CRNA – General Anesthesia in Roanoke, Virginia
Join a collaborative anesthesia team as a locum tenens Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) providing general anesthesia in a Level I trauma center. This full-time CRNA opportunity in Roanoke, VA offers a broad case mix, competitive weekly pay, and potential for contract extension.
CRNA Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $7,400–$7,800
- Location: Roanoke, Virginia
- Start Date: January 18, 2027
- Initial Contract: 13 weeks, with potential for extension and longer-term locum tenens opportunities
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Shifts: Five 8-hour day shifts per week, typically 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.; 10-hour shifts may also be available
- Overtime: Available after the scheduled shift
- Clinical Environment: Level I trauma center caring for highly complex patients
- Technology: Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
- Case Mix: Neurology, orthopedics, trauma, general surgery, gynecology, endoscopy, and pediatrics; no cardiac or obstetric cases
- Schedule Flexibility: Consideration given to requested time off
CRNA Job Requirements
- Active Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) credential
- Current CRNA board certification
- Active Virginia CRNA license, or eligibility to obtain Virginia licensure
- At least 1 year of CRNA experience
- Required experience providing anesthesia care in a Level I trauma setting
- Availability for a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
- Ability to complete required credentialing documentation and a site-specific skills checklist
- Strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and commitment to continuity of patient care
Locum Tenens CRNA Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality general anesthesia care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs
- Deliver anesthesia services across trauma, neurosurgical, orthopedic, general surgical, gynecologic, endoscopic, and pediatric cases
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, develop individualized anesthetic plans, and monitor patients throughout procedures
- Manage intraoperative anesthesia care and support safe post-anesthesia recovery
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Practice within established clinical protocols and maintain accurate anesthesia documentation in Epic
- Promote consistent, compassionate patient care while contributing to a collaborative clinical culture
