Job Details — Locum Tenens Anesthesia Job in Connecticut
- Position: Locum Tenens CRNA – General Anesthesia (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist)
- Location: Putnam, CT 06260 (Connecticut; close to northeastern CT communities)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,060 – $6,390 (competitive locum tenens CRNA pay)
- Start Date: April 24, 2026
- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Shifts Per Week: 5
- Shift Duration: 8-hour days (07:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Practice Model: Collaborative team with 4 MD anesthesiologists and 3 CRNAs
- Case Mix: General surgery, colorectal, OB/GYN, urology, orthopedics, cataracts, pacemakers, cardioversions, TEE, GI/endoscopy
- Supervision Ratio: 1:2.5
- Charting: Paper and pen
- Call: No call required (optional if desired)
Job Requirements — CRNA Jobs / Connecticut Nursing Jobs
- Current license as a registered professional nurse (RN) and ability to obtain Connecticut licensure
- Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia education program
- Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (or eligible for initial certification)
- At least 1 year of clinical experience as a CRNA is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous locum tenens or travel CRNA experience (preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications preferred
- Experience with a broad perioperative case mix and operating room workflows
Responsibilities — Anesthesia Provider / Perioperative Care
- Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments and obtain/verify patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients and families using clear, patient-centered communication
- Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia using appropriate techniques for a varied case mix
- Monitor and manage patients’ physiological status intraoperatively and perform necessary clinical interventions
- Deliver safe perioperative anesthesia care across multiple surgical specialties in the operating room and procedural suites
- Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nursing, and perioperative staff as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Document perioperative care accurately (paper charting) and communicate structured handoffs to ensure continuity of care
