- Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shifts (8 or 10 hours): 7:00am–3:00pm or 7:00am–5:00pm
- Hours per Week: 40 (full-time; 4 weeks per month availability required)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $11,800 – $12,430
- Completion Bonus: $20,000 (eligible if start by 5/18/26 and complete 13 consecutive weeks / 520 hours)
- Coverage / Cross-Credentialing: Scott's Hill Outpatient Surgery Center, New Hanover Orthopedic Hospital, Pender Medical Center
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Board Certification in Anesthesiology required
- Completion of an accredited Anesthesia residency
- Current, unrestricted North Carolina physician license required (NC medical license)
- ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as an anesthesiologist; locum tenens or contract experience preferred
- Experience supervising CRNAs (supervisory model; independent CRNA cases not required)
- Willingness to cross-credential and work across multiple hospital sites; adaptable to site-specific protocols
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health record (Epic EHR) preferred
Core Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative anesthesia care across multiple facilities, including pre-anesthesia assessment and informed consent discussions
- Oversee induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia and monitor physiologic status during procedures
- Provide medical direction and supervision of CRNAs and collaborate with surgical teams and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient care
- Respond to intraoperative events and perform necessary clinical interventions
- Support departmental coordination and leadership activities across the Anesthesia Department at outpatient surgery center and hospitals
- Maintain flexibility to cover varying case mixes (including orthopedic and outpatient surgical cases) as assigned
